You want to buy a smartphone or touch pad with Android OS and thinking how it is? Don’t worry I’ll explain how to install Android virtual machine on your PC so that you can check how it will work for you. To use Android on PC requires at least 1GB of RAM.
You can choose to install Virtual Box or Android SDK as a Virtual Machine. But I advise you to install Android SDK if you just want to use Android which specializes in emulation of Android. Now I will discuss with you how to install Virtual Box and Android SDK.
Installing Virtual Box:
Let’s start with the installation of Virtual Box.
- First download Virtual Box HERE
- Choose your OS and follow the installation instructions.
Installing Android SDK
- Download Android SDK HERE
- Follow the installation instructions.
If it asks you to install JDK Made by clicking on the link given and choosing Java platform (JDK) that is left of NetBeans. Follow the installation program and restart the installation of Android SDK. If, despite this, it always asks you to install go to C: / Programme / Java / jdk / bin / and double-click Java. Then restart the Setup Android SDK. Choose the destination C: / Android.
Setting the virtual machine using Android SDK
Open SDK Manager. SDK Manager starts by asking you what you want to install. You can either leave as it is or select all by clicking on select all. The download may take a long time so keep patience. If you have an error message like “Failed to fetch url” or that nothing happens for several minutes, then you’ll have to force the program to use http instead of https. Close the “Refresh Sources” Click Cancel to exit the window “. Choose Packages to Install”.
- Select “Settings” menu on the left of the window “Android SDK and AVD Manager”
- Check the “Force https sources to be fetched using http “
- Click “Save and Apply”
- Restart the SDK Setup.
You will come to the following window:
A new window appears, do the following:
- In name put the name you want.
- Android 2.2 targets in turn to start and you can test the others later.
- In the category SD Card tick on 1024 SD card for 1 GB or select 2048 for 2 GB etc.
- Put in Built-in default to begin and you can test the others afterwards.
- In hardware left alone.
Click create AVD, you will arrive on the start page of SDK manager. Select your machine and click start. Android starts.
